Calkins Learning Lab is finished!

This was my summer project – updating a sadly old computer lab on campus into a collaborative learning and study space for students. You need more photos to get the full effect but here’s an article from Hofstra’s Chronicle, the student newspaper. My student staff did a great job doing the design and managing the build and so far the students who are using the space all love the new look and the new furniture. Our next task is to make it a place where they can talk out loud and work together! (By default everyone wants to be very quiet.)

I am the last techy academic in the world to learn WordPress.

Even my students are showing up knowing WordPress.

For now the faculty computing blog I write remains at facultycomputing.blogspot.com; I will figure out how to double-entry those articles here or just add them in a frame. I do tweet and facebook when a new article goes up!

I will post a short summary of the New York Times Schools for Tomorrow conference I attended (and tweeted from) yesterday.

New site!

JudithTabron.com is undergoing a new incarnation. This is my severalth WordPress installation but it still may take a while before I have everything as it should be. Please feel free to browse and be patient while I figure out how to either mirror content here from http://facultycomputing.blogspot.com or consolidate.

Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to my amalgamation

I have a number of online resources and I'm primarily hoping that you'll find me where you'd like to find me through the use of this site. I can be found on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn - I look forward to meeting you!
